The Company

The Kaltwalzwerk Oberkochen is based in the town of Oberkochen, which is situated in the Swabian Mountains in Germany. The region was characterized by iron ore mining and smelteries for centuries. Scores of metal working businesses developed from the 19th century onward. These also included the cold rolling mill that Carl Walter founded in 1907. Soon Walter procured the material that he required for the production of the cold roll solely from the Röchling iron- and steelworks in Völklingen. From 1928 to 2007 the cold rolling mill has been a subsidiary of the Röchling-group.

Since 2007 the factory is a part of the Unternehmensgruppe C.D. Wälzholz.
